So it's my turn to blog now =) Little Jack and I are hanging out at home tonight, while Nic is on campus. We are immersed in the potty "learning" process. I guess potty "training" is no longer the pc way to describe it. Poor Jack is trying so hard to keep his training pants clean, but is really gassy for some reason tonight. So every 5 minutes he comes running to me exclaiming, "I poop!!", when in fact, it's just gas. But heaven forbid I tell him "it's just gas", send him on his way, and then have him poop his pants because I wouldn't take him to the potty. I have never had to exercise more patience and grace for my child than now. I read this article from "What to Expect: The Toddler Years"that said that potty learning is like learning to walk- you don't punish your child for falling down, because you know that's part of the learning process. At least for now, he's not having accidents because he's being spiteful. That has helped me be way more patient with the learning process.
And after an hour of gas, and 20 trips to the potty, he pooped. Hallelujah!
